St Kilda Football Club
We work with businesses we like. We also work with people we like. So, when St Kilda FC’s Membership Manager approached us in need of support for the team’s 2014 membership drive, it was a partnership dream come true. The team had over 100,000 fans but had only sold 22,000 memberships, so we created a social campaign to activate their fan base and generate an increase in new memberships.
They needed to grow their number of memberships and drive new sign-ups. They also needed to increase their number of followers and engagement rates on social.
We rallied the power of devoted footy fans and implemented a referral campaign on social called the ‘Saints Membership Draft’. Facebook fans were encouraged to draft new members by inviting them to join a competition where they could win major prizes. Their database grew, as did support of the club. While they were kicking goals on the field, we were kicking goals off it.
